Outside has long since promoted and supported noteworthy charities including Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT), Shine, Evelina’s Hospital and Nordoff Robbins.
For some years, Outside has handled the publicity around the very credible week of concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, organized by the TCT. We have handled ticketing, publicity, media requests and interviews free of charge for this splendid charity that brings real and direct help to teenagers struggling with cancer. The Trust, which was set up by Who front man, Roger Daltrey and the highly respected Dr Adrian Whiteson, correctly identified that teenagers suffering from cancer were not getting and specific help within the NHS system. When the kids were put in an environment that reflected their tastes and with similar people patients from the same age group, enormous improvements in remission rates were found.
Outside has also advised the Goldman Sachs charity, Shine, and has helped raise money for both Norwood, the well-known Jewish charity and Evelina Hospital Trust via the work the company has done helping organize the legendary RD Crusaders concerts. The band line-up includes Roger Daltrey, Richard Desmond, Robert Plant, Lulu, Greg Lake, Russ Ballard to name but a few – and all our work was undertaken on a no charge basis. The most recent concert raised nearly two million pounds for Norwood and Evelina Hospital.
Alan Edwards, Outside CEO, sat on the Nordoff Robbins committee for many years helping with fundraising, particularly the annual lunch to which Outside successfully invited many superstar names including David Bowie and David and Victoria Beckham. Once again, this was done on a voluntary basis.
Outside has also represented the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, which provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness. It is currently promoting the dyslexia charity Extraordinary People. Outside is conscious of its ability to use its influence and position in the world of entertainment and celebrity endorsement; and is happy to devote time to helping those less fortunate.
