‘Ever wonder what Sade would sound like as more of a Wailer? Really? Well, look no further than this set of reggae-infused, guitar driven ballads’ – Entertainment Weekly
‘Critics are calling her the next Sade or Corinne Bailey-Rae’ – The Guardian
‘Her super-cool blend of R&B, folk and reggae is already making waves in the US’ - Grazia
Acoustic Soul Singer Ayo has started 2008 with a flurry of TV and radio appearances in North America (including the Late Show on David Letterman, the Late Late Night show with Craig Ferguson on CBS), winning over fans and critics across the US with her incandescent live performances and critically acclaimed record, Joyful released in the UK on Polydor on 3rd September 2007. Press in Europe continue to lavish praise on Ayo as in evident in the new issues of Italian ELLE and Marie Claire.
This Spring, Ayo will be returning to the studio to start work on her second album. The album, to be recorded in the Bahamas will be co-produced by Jay Newland (Norah Jones) who produced her debut record, and she has personally invited various legendary musicians including Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan’s guitarist), who also featured on Joyful, with more to be confirmed.
Ayo will record the album in a live condition, and will also be recording in analogue and digital, something rarely done today. Again she will bring her own blend of Soul, Fold, Reggae and Folk to the record, and looks to replicate the success of her debut.
