Naomie burst onto the world’s screens as the machete wielding survivor in Danny Boyle’s zombie horror 28 DAYS LATER, and quickly went on to demonstrate her chameleon-like versatility by starring in roles as varied as the Jamaican voodoo Queen Tia Dalma in Gore Verbinski’s PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, Bronx undercover agent Trudy in Michael Mann’s MIAMI VICE , and the comic indie film obsessionist in Michael Winterbottom’sTRISTAM SHANDY: A COCK AND BULL STORY.
Born in London, Naomie studied ‘Social and Political Sciences’ at Cambridge University, graduating with honors before gaining her theatrical training at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
Naomie has gained critical acclaim for her work and numerous awards including a A BIFF ‘Rising Star’ award, two Screen Nations ‘Best Actress’ Awards and a BAFTA nomination for ‘Rising Star’.
2009 sees Naomie return to her indie roots in SEX, DRUGS AND ROCK AND ROLL; and her action roots as the female lead in the hotly anticipated release of Warner Brothers NINJA ASSASSIN directed by James McTeigue and produced by the Wachowsky Brothers and Joel Silver.
