Mel B helps world gear up for International Fitness Week
Former Spice Girl Mel B is backing a worldwide initiative to make the world a fitter place as International Fitness Week gets underway next month.
International Fitness Week runs from Monday February 1 until Sunday February 7 2010 and is about inspiring people across the world to make a healthier lifestyle change by finding out what kind of fitness activity suits them best and getting involved.
Throughout the week themed days will be devoted to all areas of health and fitness from health to sport, shape and exercising with a buddy.
“I am so excited to be on board for a second year and to see the campaign spread across the world,’’ said Mel. “ I want to encourage everyone to find what works for them and make being active part of their lifestyle. It’s easier than you think to get totally fit and we will show you how!
A new website –
http://www.internationalfitnessweek.com - is the hub of activity for the week with hints and tips on getting started and downloadable posters, information packs and even t-shirt designs for everyone to get involved.
“Exercise shouldn’t be seen as a chore, but as something fun that fits into your life and we’re hoping the week will give people the opportunity to discover renewed inspiration and make a permanent lifestyle change,” said John Gamble, UK managing director of Fitness First which is powering the week.
Fitness First will be opening its doors to everyone in a bid to encourage people who are new to exercise. All people need to do is visit the website to download the pass.
